Here are a few of the best extensions for Chrome that you can install on your computer:

  1. OneDrive: This extension allows you to easily store and access your files on OneDrive, making it an essential tool for anyone who uses the online storage service.
  2. Google Maps: This extension is perfect for navigation and helps you find your way around town or city.
  3. YouTube: This extension lets you watch videos offline and has many features that make it a great choice for streaming content.
  4. Google Sheets: This extension lets you create and manage spreadsheets with ease, making it a great tool for business owners or students who need to keep track of data quickly.

In this article, I’m going to talk about several extensions that I think everyone should install. Even if you haven’t heard of some of these, give them a try before you decide against using them. Having a lot of extensions installed can also slow down your browsing experience, so pick and choose what works best for you, but give each extension a try. You can easily delete or disable an extension in Chrome.

Some of the extensions I have listed are based on my heavy reliance on Google, so if you’re not in the Google ecosystem, just ignore those extensions.

Speed Dial 2

The Speed Dial 2 is a simple, customizable extension that replaces the new tab page in Google Chrome. It’s a list of recently visited sites that you can customize to your liking. There are a lot of fancy extensions that also replace the new tab page, but I’ve found the simple Speed Dial 2 to be perfect for my needs.

Speed Dial 2 is a great way to organize your web browsing. You can create groups of pages and apps, customize the theme, and heavily customize the layout. Finally, you can create an account and sync everything across all your devices. ..

LastPass

If you’re not using a password manager yet, make sure to try LastPass. If you’re using something like KeePass, don’t worry about this extension. If you use another password manager like 1Pass, then make sure to install their extension. Password managers are a must these days with the number of companies being hacked always rising and the amount of personal information being leaked even greater. ..

A password manager is a tool that helps you create complex passwords that are different for each site. You obviously can’t memorize them, so you have to store them somewhere. The obvious fear most people have is that one of these companies will be hacked themselves and all your passwords will be leaked. That’s a possibility and that’s why a lot of people use local databases like KeePass. However, I’ve been using LastPass for years and they’ve had one incident, which didn’t result in any compromised passwords.

HTTPS Everywhere

HTTPS Everywhere is a great extension that you should install if you don’t have HTTPS security on your site. It’s from the EFF organization, which is a great group that exists to protect consumers in the digital world.

The only downside I’ve seen with the extension is that it does use a bit more memory than all the other extensions. It’s not a big deal for me since I have 16GB of RAM on my computer, but if you have less RAM, it might be something to consider. ..

Disconnect

Disconnect is a privacy tool that can be installed and left on your computer. It’s a great way to make sure every website you visit isn’t tracking everything you do online. Additionally, because it blocks tracking, it also saves data and reduces the load time for sites. A lot of requests made to a website are just for the tracking cookies, tracking scripts, etc.

Adblock Plus

Adblock Plus is a great extension to use because it helps to reduce the number of ads that you see on websites. Additionally, many of the ads on websites contain malware, which can lead to a malware infection. This is simply ridiculous! ..

My site only shows ads from high-quality networks and I try to keep my ads to a minimum that still allow me to earn an income. The only downside to this extension is that some of the big sites, like Forbes.com, detect ad blocking extensions and won’t let you enter unless you whitelist their site first. ..

Honey

This extension is really cool. It lets you do some kind of online shopping, even if you’re not a big shopper.

Honey will automatically try to find coupons and apply them when you are checking out. Previously, I would hit up RetailMeNot and a bunch of other sites trying to find a coupon that I could apply before checking out, but now I just use Honey and it finds and tries all kinds of codes. At this point, there are no ads or anything intrusive and hopefully that doesn’t change in the future. Recently, Honey saved me $255 on a Dell XPS laptop! ..

Grammarly

There are a few ways to help prevent typing mistakes from happening. One way is to use a keyboard that has a numeric keypad. Another way is to use a word processor that has an editing toolbar. Additionally, you can use spell checkers and other tools to help you correct your typing mistakes.

Grammarly is a tool that will help you with your spelling and grammar. It will give you suggestions for sentence structure, proper wording, etc.

uBlock Origin

However, a recent study has shown that some businesses are using software that is specifically designed to allow users to access malicious websites. This software is known as a ‘web blocker.’

uBlock Origin is an extension that helps protect your computer from potential threats by blocking specific websites. You can choose which websites you want to protect and uBlock Origin will do its best to keep them blocked. If you have a website that is on the list, uBlock Origin will automatically block it. This extension is highly recommended for security reasons.

Turn Off the Lights

I use Turn Off the Lights to make watching video on my computer more enjoyable. It basically blackouts everything except the video and has a nice background.

If you have a 2K or 4K monitor and want YouTube to play videos in their highest resolution automatically, you can do so by setting the “Auto HD Resolution” setting to “High.” ..

FireShot

FireShot is a great screenshot tool that can capture full scrolling web pages and save them as images or PDF files. You can also capture all tabs at once to a single PDF and upload it to OneNote. You can also edit the screenshots and annotate them.

Chrome has a variety of extensions that can be used to improve your browsing experience. These ten extensions are general and can be used on a daily basis without you noticing. ..
